PLAY-IN-A-DAY
Kick-Off the 2015-16 BMP season with our annual community favorite theatrical event, Play-In-A-Day. Over 100 artists work together to create short plays that are fully presented within the course of a 24-hours.

James Brendlinger

James Brendlinger (Producer): James Brendlinger is the Chairman of Arts and Communication at Lake Howell High School in Winter Park, Florida, where he has taught Acting, Directing and Stagecraft since 1997. Prior to that, he taught theater classes at Wilson High School in his native Pennsylvania. In addition to his work at the school, James owns Penguin Point Productions, a nonprofit company dedicated to providing costume, prop and set building resources to local schools, theaters and churches at no charge. Through Penguin Point, he has produced plays at the Orlando International Fringe Festival each year since 2006, including such titles as Mysterious Skin, Anne Frank Superstar, Bare: a Pop Opera, HOODIES: The Trayvon Martin Project, and Zanna, Don’t! James serves on the Florida State Thespians Board as the chair of District 3 Thespians, representing Flagler, Lake, Seminole and Volusia Counties. He previously led District 5 Thespians, representing Orange County. He is the manager for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS collections for Florida State Thespians. In the 2014-15 school year, Florida State Thespians raised over $65,000 for this worthy cause. In the summer of 2014, James received a scholarship from the English-Speaking Union which enabled him to study at the Globe Theatre in London, where he performed as Brutus in a midnight production of Julius Caesar. James has been the recipient of several awards in recent years, including LHHS Teacher of the Year, FATE-Florida Association of Theater Educators Outstanding Theatre Arts Educator 2014, Florida Theatrical Association Director’s Award, Orlando Fringe Veteran Producer Award 2013, Don Smith Community Service Award 2015, and The Spirit of the Fringe Award at the Orlando Fringe Festival 2015.

Kaitlyn Harrington

Kaitlyn Harrington (Production Stage Manager) is currently a Theatre Arts major at Rollins College with a double emphasis in Design/Tech and Directing, a Box Office Associate for the Annie Russell Theatre, and the Visiting Artist Liaison for the Fred Stone Theatre. She has been involved in over fifty productions the last five years through various professional, community, and educational theatres as a stage manager, director, designer, technician, and actress. Among them are the BMP productions of Children of a Lesser God and four consecutive years of Play-In-A-Day. Beth has awarded her the 2013 Beth Marshall Presents Scholarship and the 2014 Beth Marshall Presents Overall Leadership Award. Kaitlyn would like to thank Beth Marshall and James Brendlinger for all of the wonderful opportunities they have graced her with over the years!

Maria Belvis

Maria Belvis (Assistant Stage Manager and Front of House) is thrilled to be back for her fourth time working with BMP and Play-In-A-Day. She enjoys indie rock music, feminist literature, and dogs. Maria would like to thank Beth Marshall and James Brendlinger for all of the amazing opportunities they have given her and her friends and family for the copious amount of support over all the years!

Daniel Meyer

Daniel J. Meyer (Technical Director): Daniel is incredibly excited to be joining Beth Marshall Presents for the 2015-2016 season.  He is a graduate of Lake Howell High School, and currently attending Seminole State College where he has been awarded a scholarship to study Technical Theatre.  Daniel has been awarded a Superior Rating and Honorable Mention for his work in Sound Design at the District Level, as well as another Superior Rating at the State Level.  Some of the most recent productions he has worked on include A Streetcar Named Desire, Nunsense, Playboy of the Western World, & Bare: A Pop Opera as a technician, and Rabbit Hole, The Boys Next Door, & Hamlet as well as BMP’s Play-in-a-Day 2014 as an actor.  Daniel also recently directed two one act plays Alias:Cinderella & Dying Light as a part of Badger Performing Arts’ debut.  He would like to thank Beth and BMP for giving him this incredible opportunity, James Brendlinger for helping him get started in theatre, and his family and friends for all of their continued love and support.

David Merchant (Assistant to Producer): David is so excited to be back with the BMP company for a second season! David’s previous BMP credits include: Play-In-A-Day 2013 and 2014, The Trayvon Martin ProjectBeatnik Squared, Janine Klein: The Mutha-F@#$n’ MusicalDoubt, and HOODIES. David would like to thank Beth for all the opportunities she has given him!

Chris Foster

Chris Foster  (a.k.a Beth Marshall’s hubby, a.k.a Mr. Marshall, a.k.a the quiet good-looking guy in the corner) received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Sciences degrees in International Affairs with an Economics focus as well as a Post-secondary teaching certification from Florida State University. Chris spent several years teaching in a variety of settings with the Orange County Public Schools system, a public/private charter high school and Florida Southern College. Since 2004 Chris has been happily situated at Full Sail University, where he first taught the Entertainment Business and Law course since before taking his current position as Course Director for Introduction to Economics and recently developed and began teaching the online Economics course for LA Film School.
Throughout this career he has worked behind the scenes and greatly enjoyed contributing to the success of Beth Marshall Presents. I hope you enjoy the shows this season as much as I enjoy watching my wife work her magic in creating them.

Mitzi Morris

MITZI MORRIS (Emcee): America’s Favorite Pancake Hostess (trademark pending), is pleased as punch to be hosting Play-In-A-Day this year.  No stranger to the stage, Mitzi was most recently seen at the Orlando Fringe Festival, where she sang and tap-danced her way into America’s heart in her two shows “Dazzled to Death” and “If Looks Could Kill.”  Originally from Minnesota, Mitzi worked her way up the entertainment ladder, starting in the 1970’s with some “art films,” then on to some favorite stage roles at community playhouses across the US, until finally stopping here in Orlando to create her very own podcasts and stage shows.  When not performing, Mitzi can be found hostessing at a certain internationally-known pancake house.  You can also keep up with her antics on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/mitzimorrisfanpage) or on the Twitter (@MitziMorrisAFPH).  She’d like to thank all the little people out there for helping her feel so big.

Gabriella Juliet Beals (Writer) is thrilled to be returning as a writer to her third year of PIAD. Previously she has been a director and playwright, and last year her team won the audience Critics Choice award. Gabriella is currently studying at Florida State University to receive her B.M. in Musical Theatre. When in Orlando, she loves working for The Imagination House, interning for BMP, and volunteering for Orlando Fringe. Gaby thanks Beth for being her second mama and mentor in all things. Love to Tiff, Lauren, Dr.C, Christine, and her parents.

Chris Y

Chris Yakubchik (Director):  has assistant directed several shows, including last winter’s production of Cabaret at The Abbey, Wanzie’s Ladies of Eola HeightsCarolina Moon, and Trailer Trash Christmas.  At The Abbey, he has also assistant directed Naughty Is Nice: A Christmas Cabaret, and most recently was writer/assistant director of VarieTEASE: Carnies. This summer, Chris assistant directed The Flick in the Pugh Theatre at Dr. Phillips’ Center for the Performing Arts and worked once again with Kenny Howard, Beth Marshall, Peg O’Keefe, and Blue Star on Wanzie’s Court Ordered Therapy: Ladies of Eola Heights Continued.

Helena Cooper

Helena Cooper (Assistant Director/Stage Manager)- Helena Cooper is thrilled to be part of her first Beth Marshall Presents Production! She is a Junior at Boone High School and is an aspiring director! She recently assistant directed Evita at Boone High School and this is her first PIAD! She would like to thank her family, friends, and troupe for their constant support!

Michael Carr

Michael Carr (Actor): Mike is thrilled to work with Beth Marshall Presents for Play in a Day. Mike works full time at the theme parks (Disney and Universal) in many shows. He is also the Artistic Director and performer at SAK Comedy Lab in downtown Orlando.

Camryn Chiriboga

Camryn Chiriboga (Actor) is a Junior at Spruce Creek High School where she is a member of her school’s drama club.  She is excited to embark on her first journey with BMP this season.  Camryn is also thrilled to be a part of the next installment of Beatnik later this year.  Favorite roles include Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Natalie in All Shook Up, Miss Dorothy in Thoroughly Modern Mille and Kendra in 13 The Musical.  Camryn is so thankful to Beth for this opportunity!  Much love to her Mom for giving her the theater bug!

Daniel Molina

Daniel Molina (Actor): Acting is my dream particularly film and TV. I have been doing this since freshman year and my plans are to stay in Orlando for two years then head to California. I have always loved preforming in front of friends and family and anyone who will just take time out of there day to see me.

Samuel Butcher (Actor) is an anagram for “ambush lecture”. A rapscallion, scamp and scoundrel, Samuel is a man of few accolades and fewer abilities. Those he meets tend to view Samuel with immediate disdain, thereby saving time. He is one of the numerous and varied legion of dullards, of half-animated abortions, conceited, half-educated coxcombs, who attach  themselves to the idea most in fashion only to vulgarize it and who caricature every cause they serve, however sincerely. This is is third Play in a Day.

David Lee

David Lee (Writer): 5th year as a Writer for PIAD. Other plays include: NIRVANOV, Pie-Face! The Adventures of Anita Bryant and The 3 Pussy Riot Sisters. January 2016 Director for VROOM! A NASCar Comedy by Janet Allard for Triad Stage in Greensboro NC. Previous work with Beth Marshall Presents: Director for Our Town at The Garden Theatre. Graduate of The University of Miami and The Yale School of Drama.

Kealan Rivera

Kealan Rivera (Director) is a recent high school graduate and is very enthused to be involved in his first ever Play in a Day. He has been delighted to view BMP’s past seasons and productions however has not yet been involved. He hopes thoroughly to be more so in the future.

Gina

Gina Scheraldi (Stage Manager): Gina is very excited to be a part of the Play In a Day team! In 2014, Gina graduated from Florida State University with a BA in Theatre, focusing in Stage Management.Gina has stage managed productions in Tallahassee, New Jersey, Los Angeles and is very happy to add Orlando to her list! Currently, Gina works with Universal Studios Marquee events team as well as with the box office staff at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Reigan Paulovitch

Region Paulovich (Actor): My name is Reigan Paulovich, I’m an actor in team 2. This is my second year performing in PIAD. I am currently involved in the Wishing Well Girl with Beth Marshall Presents.

Stelson Telfort

Stelson Telfort (Actor): Stelson is thrilled to be apart of his first Play In A Day with Beth Marshall Presents. He first made his acting debut in October 2014 in Beth Marshall Presents The Trayvon Martin Project Part 1: ATribute. Some of his recent credits include Gladhand in Westside Story (Valencia College), Himself in Division: Trayvon/Jordan Project (Valencia College). Stelson also recently made his debut in the Orlando Fringe Festival as the lead role of Demetrius in Hoodies (Beth Marshall Presents), making him the only actor to appear in all 3 proudctions of the year long Trayvon/Jordan Project. Stelson is also an actor in Diagon Alley at Universal Studios. He has also taken in interest in film acting appearing in various roles. He is very grateful for all the opportunities he has been given in his short career and looks forward to many future endeavors.

Dennis Enos

Dennis Enos (Actor): I am very excited to be doing my very first production with BMP, AND, my first ever Play In A Day.   I get so few firsts anymore:  what a pleasure to have both of these!  Thanks to all who support the arts!

Nakary Hurtado

Nakary Hurtado (Actor):  Nakary is really excited to be participating for the first time in PIAD.  She can’t wait to take on this new challenge and work with so many talented artists in such a limited amount of time. Lastly she hopes you enjoy the show!

Anthony Pyatt Jr

Anthony Pyatt Jr. (Actor): This is Anthony’s third time as an actor for PIAD and first performance in Central FL since returning from NYC. He previously worked with Beth on an original play entitled THE WAY OF THE CARDS. Catch him next as Alex in A CLOCKWORK ORANGE in October, as well as Elder Thomas in the BMP production of THE WHALE in March.

Steve Schneider

Steve Schneider (Writer) is an Orlando-based playwright whose “Escape From Baldwin Park” and “The Wait List Murders” were hits at the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival. He previously contributed the playlet “The Items” to Beth Marshall Productions’ Trayvon Martin Project. Steve is thrilled to be making his first-ever contribution to Play-in-a-Day, because he knows that art like this doesn’t just happen overnight. (Wait.)

Margaret N

Margaret Nolan (Director) is excited to be a part of the PIAD magic again! She helms the boutique Kangagirl Productions and recently produced  Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead at the Footlight Theatre at the Parliament House and Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll at the Orlando International Fringe Festival. Other shows include Hedwig and the Angry Inch (co-pro), PIE-FACE! The Adventures of Anita Bryant, The New Century, The Little Dog Laughed, The Three Pussy Riot Sisters, Miss Sammy Bakes A Cake, A Midnight Snack with Tom & Vincent, Lilly & Lila’s Lovely Lesbian Hour, and Me, Me,Me, Me.  She’s directed for Theatre Downtown, Tropical Theatre, Harriet Lake Festival of New Plays and Playwright’s Roundtable.  Big kudos to the energetic and talented cast and crew involved with PIAD. And a heartfelt ‘thank-you’ to the enduring love and support from her fiance, Jocelynn White.

Shannon Lauzier

Shannon Lauzier (Stage Manager): This is Shannon’s first time working with BMP and doing Play-In-A-Day! She has previously worked with Jester Theater Company and is excited to get back to working with great artists doing such a great event. Shannon has been working in theatre for 6 years in Orlando and Chicago and loves our audiences and artists. Thank you for supporting the arts!

Angel Marengo (Actor): Acting, poetry, and Taco Bell are only a few of the things Angel is oh so passionate about. He is delighted to be able to say he started off as a background dancer for Grease and has since grown to take on such big roles as Romeo in LHTC’s recent production of Romeo & Juliet. This is Angel’s first time being a part of Play-In-A-Day and would like to express how excited and honored he is to be doing so.

Theresa Smith-Levin

Theresa Smith-Levin (Actor): Soprano and voice teacher, Theresa Leigh Smith-Levin, is thrilled to be making her debut with Beth Marshall Presents.  Theresa is the Executive Director of the non-profit organization, Central Florida Vocal Arts, which is dedicated to promoting arts advocacy.  Theresa is a University of Central Florida and University of Miami alumni, performs regularly throughout the area, cantors weekly at St Margaret Mary Church and maintains a music studio of 40 students. She is also a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.  In addition to her private studio, Theresa teaches voice at Valencia College, West Orange High School, Dr. Phillips’ High School and Dr. Phillips’ School of the Arts.  Theresa’s favorite roles include Orlovsky from Die Fledermaus, Claudia from Nine, Musetta from La Boheme and the Mother from Amahl and the Night Visitors.

Layla Nassar (Actor) is ecstatic to work as an actor in PIAD for the second year. She has performed with the Lake Howell Theater Company in roles such as Penny in Hairspray, Ophelia in Hamlet, and Cleopatra in Antony & Cleopatra. Layla wishes the most broken of legs to all participating in PIAD.

Morgan Price

Morgan Price (Actor): Morgan is thrilled to be making her debut with Beth Marshall Presents as an actor in PIAD. Originally from Florida, Morgan traveled the east coast acting, studying and teaching for 15 years. Since settling in Orlando, Morgan has performed at Disney, Arabian Nights, Orlando Shakespeare Theater and Fun Spot. Morgan dedicates her performance to her love and inspiration, Carl Krickmire.

Gabi Hockensmith

Gabrielle Hockensmith (Actor) is an actor for the second time in Play In A Day! She was in the Musical last year and is so excited for something new. She’s going to be a Senior at Boone High School this year. Her roles include Amanda in ‘Worthless’ in The Treyvon Martin Project, ‘Matron Mama Morton’ in Chicago the Musical, and ‘Beck’ in Rob Winn Anderson’s A Little Princess:Sara’s Heart.

Eric Pinder

Eric Pinder (Writer): Eric Pinder has participated six times in PIAD, he has acted twice, directed once, and this is his third time writing. In addition to being involved in Orlando Fringe Festival 19 years, Eric is also the Director In Residence for Florida Opera Theatre where he has directed concerts and operas such as “Carmen”, “Gianni Schicchi”, and “Trouble In Tahiti”. He has also appeared at Mad Cow Theatre most recently in the hit comedy “The Explorers Club”. He is writing a hockey opera entitled “Goaliedämmerüng”.

Clark Levi

Clark Levi (Director) is proud to be involved in his 1st Beth Marshall production. He will also be performing in The Wishing Well Girl later this season. He would like to thank his parents, his theatre friends, Monica Tamborello, his past theatre teachers Tiffany Weagly and David Lee, and his current theatre teacher Mrs. Love.

Theresa Rogers

Theresa Rogers (Stage Manager): In “real life” Theresa teaches high school and finds her joy in helping struggling students get on track to graduate high school and become successful both in and out of school. In her “unreal life” she regularly volunteers for several arts organizations including Beth Marshall Presents and Voci Dance. Theresa has also served as the Producer of Kids Fringe and Volunteer Coordinator for The Orlando International Fringe Festival. Theresa would like to thank Beth for her devoted friendship and would like to tell her many friends that are part of Play-in-a-Day to be awesome!

Naci Goldberg

Nacia Goldberg (Actor): Nacia Goldberg is thrilled to be an actress in her first Play-In-a-Day. She has been in Beth Marshall’s Top Teens Showcase and is thrilled to have such a wonderful opportunity to work with such amazing and talented people.

Peri Goldberg

Peri Goldberg (Actor): Peri is thrilled to be making her Play in a Day debut acting alongside her daughter, Nacia.  She has been active in the Orlando theatre community for many years, most recently playing Golde in Theater at the J’s  production of Fiddler on the Roof .  Other roles have included Noleta in Sordid Lives, Mrs Braddock in the Graduate, and Mrs. Mayor in Suessical.

Elizabeth Thornton

Elizabeth Thornton (Actor): This is Elizabeth’s first year in PIAD and is so elated to be a part of it. Elizabeth is a junior at Boone High School and Market Manager for her troupe. Last year at Districts, Elizabeth received Best in Show for her monologues and publicity. She has coached with Beth Marshall in the past and performed in the Top Teens Showcase. Some of the shows Elizabeth has been in are Macbeth, Evita, The Little Mermaid, War at Home, The King and I, and Holder Posey. Elizabeth would like to thank her family and Beth for being so supportive.

Clark Thornton (Actor): Clark is a sophomore at Florida State University studying marketing.  Clark was heavily involved in theatre at Boone High School during his time there, but has largely taken a hiatus from theatre in the last year with the exception of last year’s PIAD.  Clark enjoys camping and cigars.  Clark will go to Georgetown Law School and become a highly corrupt and lowly regarded attorney.  Clark will also be the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.  Clark could write more, but knows that only five of the perhaps ten people in the audience who know him will read this, and besides, Clark is getting tired of writing about himself in third person.  So Clark will leave these five people with a joke: The dyslexic devil worshipper sold his soul to Santa.

Jake Shackleford

Jake Shackleford (Actor): 17 years old. Senior at Lake Howell High school. I’ve been involved with theater all four years of highschool. I’ve fallen in love with it. Crew leader for LHTC and former set construction forman. Mostly I do alot of behind the scenes stuff but recently I have moved into more acting and I love that just as much.

Eric Desnoyers

Eric Desnoyers (Actor): BMP/PIAD Debut! Most recently assistant directed the Orlando Premiere of HEATHERS-the Musical. Other stage credits include Wanzie’s The Lion Queen (Timba) and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson with the Orlando Fringe Festival. Also, Sweeney Todd with Theatreworks FL, and HAIR at Mad Cow. Eric is excited to join the PIAD festivities this season.

Rose Helsinger (Writer) this is her first year in PIAD. Rose is an officer in her high school theatre department. Her career goal is to teach creative writing at a university level. She loves her family, icelandic pop groups, ocean documentaries, dinosaurs, and The Container Store. Shout out to Starbucks caffeine for without it this play will not  be possible.

Kenny Howard

Kenny Howard (Director): (Select Orlando credits) Heathers, The Flick, Cabaret, The Lion Queen, HEDWIG and the Angry Inch. Also a Tony Award winning producer and The Education Director for Florida Theatrical Association and Artistic Director of The Abbey. He is a graduate of UCF and currently serves on the Board of the Orlando International Fringe Festival.

Susan Walsh

Susan Walsh (Stage Manager): Susan Walsh, an assistant professor of biology at Rollins College, is returning to this compressed theatrical adventure for the third year. Her involvement in theatre persists despite her ‘day job’, and she has worked backstage on over 50 productions. Locally, she has served as a venue technician at the Orlando International Fringe Festival.

Veronica Kelly

Veronica Kelly (Actor): VK is ready for the exciting challenge of PIAD. This is her second year working with BMP and she is happy to be back. At heart, VK is a seeker of truth and a life-long learner. This Fall, she will be entering the BFA acting program at FSU. Veronica gives a special thanks to Captain Tiffany Weagly, Jeff Jordan,  Savanna Shurman, Both Robs(Anderson and Ward), her parents and, of course, Mama Joyce Arbucias.

Ben Campbell (Actor): Ben is ecstatic to be acting in his first “Play In A Day” which will also be his first “Beth Marshall Presents” production! He has also been cast as Orphan 1 in “The Wishing Well Girl” later this season. He would like to thank Beth Marshall for giving him this opportunity to grow and thrive as an actor.

Mickey Layman

Mickey Layman (Actor) is thrilled to be making his debut with Beth Marshall Presents in Play In A Day. He has recently directed for Playwright’s Round Table’s Launch 2015, and Summer Shorts. Currently, he can be seen performing at Sleuths Mystery Dinner Theatre. He is also a Senior at the University of Central Florida as an Interdisciplinary Studies major. He would like to thank his wonderful husband for all of his support.

Momo Earle

Momo Earle (Actor): Momo Earle is a Junior at West Orange High School, this is her sixth Beth Marshall Presents show. In PIAD Momo will be an actor, Momo will also be seen in Beatnik Cubed and the Wishing Well Girl, where she will play the Wishing Well Girl later this season. She would like to thank Beth for these opportunities, along with her family, friends, and everyone who has helped her throughout the years.

Adrian Rivera

Adrian Rivera (Actor): My name’s Adrian. My life philosophy revolves around having as much fun as possible being happy and seeing the bright side of 90% of things. However i’m also very politically active. I spend basically all my free time playing music . I play guitar, bass, drums, and i LOVE singing. When it comes to acting i prefer sad, (happily) crazy. or spazzy. All time dream role The  Joker.

Tod Caviness

Tod Caviness (Writer): Tod Caviness makes his third run at Play in a Day after participating as a writer in 2010 and an actor in 2013. Caviness is an active fixture in local spoken word circles and organizes poetry events at the annual Orlando Fringe Festival, as if his former position as the Orlando Sentinel’s nightlife columnist didn’t provide enough of an excuse to drink. He can be seen onstage this November (along with his talented wife Christin) in Beth Marshall’s upcoming production of Beatnik Cubed.

Denna Beena

Denna Beena (Director) is super excited to be returning to Play-in-a-Day for the 3rd year and as a first time director! Denna *is* Pink Hair Productions where she works and performs many roles for and as herself. PHP has produced several shows and events including the award winning Dia de la Murtos and Monster Factory(CityArts Factory), CFLAS’s Immersed, The Daily City’s Cardboard Art Festival and Shenanigan’s Comedy Festival.  You may have seen Denna doing what she does best — producing and organizing — at Spooky Empire, where she is an assistant producer and FreePlay Florida where she is an event manager. You can also catch her in Renaissance Entertainment’s feature film, Charaterz! Denna would like to thank Carla Young, who will always inspire and be in her heart and her husband, Travis, for putting up with and still loving her and her craziness. Break all the legs everyone!

John McD

John McDonald (Stage Manager) is very happy to celebrate his 4th season with BMP. This will be his 1st time stage managing in 17 years and he’s a little apprehensive. For those fans and friends who wanted to see him perform join us at The Venue for the third installment of BEATNIK later this year. As always he would like to thank Beth for the opportunities and his husband (it’s legal now!!! Yay!!!) for the means to take advantage of them.

Keisha Delva

Keisha Delva (Actor) is thrilled to be part of her first Play in A Day event and her first Beth Marshall Presents production. Keisha’s recent credits include Phantasmagoria and Valence at the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival. She has also performed in Valencia College’s productions of Division: The Trayvon/Jordan Project and Metamorphoses. When she isn’t acting, Keisha is a dancer with Coby Project, Explore Theatre & Dance Co. and Voci Dance

Alexis Simmons

Alexis Simmons (Actor): My name is Alexis Divine Simmons, I’m a recent graduate from Lake Howell High School and Troupe 4937. This is my first year doing PIAD and my second overall year working with Beth Marshall Presents.  Previously I’ve worked on the PIAD House Crew and was part of the Hoodies Brigade that performed at The Orlando Fringe Festival 2015. This year I am an actor on Team 6. Later this season I can be seen as The Race Rights Activist in Beatnik Cubed this November. I’m so excited to have this opportunity to work with such talented people!

Alexia Correa

Alexia Correa (Actor): Junior at Boone High School, Alexia Correa is so excited to be an actor in this year’s PIAD! This is her second year in PIAD. Alexia has been in a few BMP productions including: last year’s PIAD and has been in the 1st Annual BMP Top Teens event. She can also been seen in Beatnik Cubed coming up this season.

Amanda Hughes

Amanda Grace Hughes (Actor): Amanda Grace is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter and actress. This year she is making her third appearance in both Play-in-a-Day and BEATNIK! She was also one of Beth Marshall’s 2015 Top Teens. Amanda is currently working on her first EP, Glow, and would love it if you checked out her website: www.amandagrace.org

Julian Bond

Julian Bond (Writer/Composer/Musical Director): is originally from Winchester, England, where he began piano lessons at the age of seven. Over the next decade he undertook studies in several other instruments, as well as composition, and in his twenties he moved to London where he graduated from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama with an honors degree in Music Composition, including specialism in conducting, music production and film scoring. His piano studies continued in both classical and jazz, and he has performed internationally in both genres. He has been the recipient of many awards, including the European Junior Piano Festival, the EMI “Make Music” composing competition, the Alexander Grotsz Prize for Composition (London) and in 2005 he was ranked as one of the country’s top ten young film score composers by Turner Classic Movies, under the auspices of the late Elmer Bernstein. Julian is currently enjoying a variety of musical activities, both in and out of state, and whilst in Orlando he enjoys working as a composer, pianist, producer, clinician, recording artist and musical director for several organizations including the Walt Disney Company. Julian is honored to have been involved in several BMP projects including 33 Variations, Beatniks, a variety of cabarets and his upcoming one man show “Music and Magic, Tricks and Treats”.

Jeremy Seghers

Jeremy Seghers (Director): This is Jeremy’s fourth (non-consecutive) year directing for PIAD. After living in New York for the past three years, Jeremy recently returned to Orlando and is excited to be directing two shows this fall: an immersive re-imagining of Anthony Burgess’ A Clockwork Orange and the southeast premiere of A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay About the Death of Walt Disney.

Ileana “Blue Estrella” Johns (Stage Manager): This is Blue’s first year participating in Play-In-A- Day. She is super excited! Since her move to Orlando in 2000, she’s received a Film Degree at FMU and a Bachelor’s in Theatre Arts at Stetson University concentrating on sound and lighting design. She’s performed in the parades at Disney and has directed and choreographed several High School Color Guards throughout the state of Florida. In 2012, Blue decided to write, direct and choreograph “Spinzophrenia” for the Orlando Fringe Festival and has been involved with the Fringe ever since. Some of the shows that Blue has stage managed are “Hungry! The Musical”, “Obsessed” and “Bubble Gum Party”.  When she is not stage managing or choreographing, you can find her training dogs at the PetSmart in Ocoee. 

Dion Leonhard (Choreographer/Dancer/Actor) is a certified Pilates and Barre instructor and dancer both regionally and nationally. She has worked with multiple professional ballet companies, as well as regional groups throughout Central Florida. Dion performs as principal dancer “Cimorene”/additional choreographer for the original Victorian/Steampunk/Horror troupe “Phantasmagoria Orlando”. She choreographs professionally and within High Schools and Colleges in Central Florida. This is Dion’s premier performance for both “Beth Marshall Presents” and “Play-in-a-Day”.

Sarah Isola

Sarah Isola (Actor): Sarah is 11 years old and is thrilled to be in Play In A Day with Beth Marshall Presents! This is her first production with BMP. Some of her past credits include Little Cosette (Les Miserables), Cinderella (Rodgers & Hammerstein’ s Cinderella), Edwina (Dear Edwina), and The National Anthem (Solar Bears Hockey). You can see her in The Wishing Well Girl this upcoming season. She thanks her voice coach, Theresa Smith for all of her support and instruction, her family for all their support, God, and thanks Beth for giving her this wonderful opportunity!

Kerry Alce

Kerry Alce (Actor): My name is Kerry Alce, I am 19 years old. I am an aspiring artist planning to make it in the world of arts. I have been involved in BMP’s ,The Trayvon Martin Project and Hoodies. I was in last year’s Play In a Day in the first musical.

Matthew Roman

Matthew Roman (Actor): Play in a Day 2015 is Matthew’s first ever production with Beth Marshall Presents. However, as a Junior at Boone High School, Matt hopes for many more projects with this company in the future! Previous acting credits include Benny in In the Heights (Greater Orlando Actor’s Theater), Ché in Evita (Boone High School), and more. He dearly hopes you enjoy the show, and would like to give a shoutout to his parents, Sid and Pia, his friends, and some of his mentors: Mr. Steve, Ms. Langa, Mrs. Weagly, Mr. Castañeda, Mr. Lee, Mrs. Love, Mr. Gary, Ms. Kim, Mr. Rob, Mr. Juan, Mrs. Beth, and so many more! Whew! Thank you all so much for the unending support and help! ¡No pare, sigue sigue!

Erin Wagoner

Erin Wagoner (Actor): is delighted to have the opportunity to act in her first PIAD this year! Erin will also appear later this season in the Beth Marshall productions BEATNIK CUBED as the Beat Queen and THE WISHING WELL GIRL as the Angel of Darkness. You can also find Erin occasionally performing at Sleuth’s Mystery Dinner Theatre. Aside from acting, Erin is a singer-songwriter currently recording her first full-length album.

Rob Ward

Rob Ward (Writer) is thrilled to return to PIAD for his 9th time!  He has participated in previous years as a writer, director, actor, and even as a host.  Rob is a freelance show-writer and director for diverse entertainment companies including Walt Disney World, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and Blue Man Group.  Rob is a regular performer at Sleuths Mystery and SAK Comedy Lab, where he also teaches improv classes.This fall Central Florida audiences can see Rob as Jacob “The Maid” in Winter Garden Theatre’s production of La Cage Aux Follies.

Laurel Clark

Laurel Clark (Director): A professional theatrical director and performer in the Orlando area since 1986, Laurel has been blessed to have spent the past nineteen years as the Executive Show Director for Sleuths Mystery Dinner Shows. Play in a Day is always one of her favorite events all year and she is thrilled to be participating as a director for her 3rd time!

Sonya Beyer-Paulsen

Sonja Beyer-Paulsen (Stage Manager): Sonja Beyer-Paulsen is a stage manager, and this is her first time participating in the Play in a Day festival. Recrently, Sonja was a stage management intern at Florida Studio Theatre, where she had the opportunity to work on several shows including the children’s show Rap-Punzel, Daddy Long Legs and Fly. She is very excited to participate in PIAD!

Kaitlin Elizabeth Baxter (Actor) is thrilled to returning to Play-In-A-Day as an actor for the 3rd year in a row. Kaitlin is a graduate of Rollins College, and is currently the Theatre Teacher and Director at Lake Minneola High School. As an actor year round, she plays the role of Mercury with the Orlando theatre troupe Phantasmagoria. Then coming this January, you will also be able to see Kaitlin in another BMP production as the ‘Teacher’ in the original play “The Wishing Well Girl.”

Donald Johnston

Donald Johnston (Actor): This is Donald’s third year consecutively performing in Play-In-A-Day, and he is thrilled to give this year all he’s got. Last year he competed in the first ever musical with this production, so he’s looking forward to what lies ahead with this year’s twists and turns. He has worked with Beth on her previous production of Children of a Lesser God. He is currently working with Jeremy Seghers and other PIAD team members on Anthony Burgess’ A Clockwork Orange running in October of 2015. Keep your glazzies peeled!

Winona Wiley

Winona Wiley (Actor): Winona is super excited to be performing in play in a day this year. This would be her first time participating in play in a day, and first time in a BMP show. Previous credits include Coercion(Lina), The Secret Life of Girls(Abby), The Children’s Hour(Rosalie Wells), and more. See her in other upcoming BMP shows, Beatnik Cubed and The Wishing Well Girl!

Arius West

Aries West (Actor): My name is Arius West and I’m 20 years old attending UCF for the Theatre Studies Program. I will be an actor in this year’s PIAD! I was also an actor in PIAD 2014 in which my team was voted Best Short by the audience. I was also a part of BMP “Trayvon Martin Project”. In addition to this year’s PIAD, I will be a specialty act in BMP “Beatnik Cubed”.

Brandon Smith

Brandon Smith (Actor): My name is Brandon Smith, I have been casted as an actor in PIAD for 2015. This will be my very first time doing PIAD and I am really excited! The only of BMP production I have been apart of so far is the Hoodies Brigade for her play “Hoodies.” Hope this is all you needed for a Bio? If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Ken Preuss

Ken Preuss (Writer): A former deejay, magician and improvisational comedian, Ken Preuss became a teacher to guarantee himself an audience five days a week. He is the co-author of the book, The Amazing Dad: 400 Ways to Wow the Kids and the author of 14 published plays which are performed at Thespian Festivals across the country and abroad. His ten minute comedy, Binged There, Done That, was part of 2015’s Playwrights’ Round Table’s Summer Shorts.

Stephen Middleton

Stephen Middleton (Director): Stephen is very excited to be back at PIAD this time as a director. He has worked twice before at PIAD as an actor. Stephen has also performed  with BMP in an excellent  cast of OUR TOWN which included his entire family, Christian, Jamie and the yet unborn  Ariel. Stephen has been at various stages around  town most recently as Gooper in Mad Cow’s proproduction  of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Stephen’s directing credits include Colors at Lock Haven University, Acorns for 10 for the fringe and an unabridged full length film version of Hamlet. Stephen has also spent the last 22  years  as a performer  and trainer at Universal Orlando. Special thanks to Jamie who keeps  saying, “you need to direct “. Thanks for your support I love you

Nadine Love

Nadine Love (Stage Manager) is excited to be involved with PIAD and Beth Marshall Presents for the first time. She is the new Theatre Director at Boone High School. Go troupe 1139! Previously she taught theatre at Haines City High School in Polk County.

Bennet Preuss

Bennet Preuss (Actor): A freshman at Lake Howell High School, Bennet is performing in PIAD for the first time. In 2015, Bennet earned four superiors at State Jr. Thespians including Best in Show for monologue and scene writing. His favorite roles include Professor Marvel/The Wizard in The Wizard of Oz and Nick Bottom in A Super Groovy Night’s Dream both at Millennium Middle School, the Dodo Bird in Alice in Wonderland at WDPAC, and Ponyboy Curtis in The Outsiders at Lake Howell High.

Francie Moon

Francie Moon (Actor) is thrilled to return to PIAD after being on the winning team last year.  Favorite roles include:  Barbara (August: Osage County), Annie Sullivan (The Miracle Worker),  Daisy (Driving Miss Daisy) Kate (Brighton Beach Memoirs), M’Lynn (Steel Magnolias), Annie (Misery), and Mrs Vitale in Tony and Tina’s Wedding.  Go Team 9!! Thank you Beth!

Vangeli Tsompanidis

Vangeli Tsompanidis (Actor): Vangeli Tsompanidis is a freshman at Hagerty and is excited to perform in his first PIAD.  This year he received straight superiors at State Jr. Thespians and was selected for the All State Choir. He has been seen as: Lion (Wizard of Oz) at Millennium MS; Ancestor Laozi (Mulan) & Mad Hatter (Alice in Wonderland) at WDPAC; and featured in Best of Broadway at Breakthrough Theater where he was nominated for Best Student Actor.

Chris Walen

Christopher Walen (Actor): Christopher Walen (19) is a sophmore in college, and will be performing for this third year with Play In A Day, and third time with Beth Marshall Productions. He is happy to be back and wishes that everyone will enjoy the show!
