BEATNIK marks the BMP debut at THE VENUE (511 Virginia St.) on Tues. Dec. 3rd, 2013. A unique, audience interactive 60′s themed, underground speak-easy event. Patrons will get a flashback experience full of all things groovy from the 60′s. Come hang with the BEATS, poets, freaks, geeks, dancers, hippies,songwriters, groupies, comics, activists, actors, advocates fans and artisans of the 60′s. Enjoy a cocktail, while mingling around the Darth Knapik & Bonnie Sprung art gallery or having a one-of-a-kind beat poem written just for you by the poets of POETRY VENDING MACHINE or engaging in a political discussion or joining in a drum circle. Audience members can come dressed in 60′s attire and be as involved or uninvolved with pre-show mingle events as they desire.

Alexander Mrazek is very gracious to be working on his third Beth Marshall Presents project this season. Most recently seen as The White Rabbit/Mr.Gwynn in the World Premiere of
Alice Lost in Wonderland, Alex also took part in Play-In-A-Day in
80 Percent. Apart from his work at Universal Studios Orlando, Sea World, and Sleuths, Alex will be starting work soon on the epic tale of

Janine Klein is happy to performing in Beatnik and wants to wish you all peace, love, and understanding.
Billy Manes is the award-winning senior staff writer at Orlando Weekly, and has been playing some role at that paper – nightlife raconteur, town drunk, life of the party, death of modern civilization, political force, political farce, sad clown, survivor – for nearly 16 years. Previous stage roles include Lamar in Godspell and the butler in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, but those both predate the process of puberty and should never again be referenced. Best just to consider the modern-day overexposure of a man who can’t seem to get enough attention. Then have a drink.
Tod Caviness is a nightlife columnist and features reporter at the Orlando Sentinel. Despite his tireless work for “the man,” he was named Best Poet/Spoken Word Artist for the past three years by Orlando Weekly readers, who all have beards and are therefore well informed on that sort of thing. Each year, he coordinates poetry events for the Orlando Fringe Festival, and each month he wrangles authors, poets and several other species of drunkards as the host of the long-running Speakeasy spoken word night at Will’s Pub.
Christin Caviness attended Jacksonville University on scholarship and received her B.F.A. in dance. She has also trained at the American Dance Festival, the Sarasota Ballet, and the Mark Morris Dance Center. She has performed in works by David Dorfman, Alvin Ailey and Jawole Zollar. Other credits include Chen and Dancers, Ballethnic Dance Co., Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Notes in Motion, Avodah Dance Ensemble and Voci Dance Group. Her own work has been shown at the Florida Dance Festival, American College Dance Festival and the Orlando Fringe Festival. Carlow is also a certified Pilates instructor and has her Doctorate in physical therapy. She is currently a member of Yow Dance.
Samuel Butcher is a Political Scientist by training, Writer by passion, Director and Producer by avidity, and an impish scalawag by disposition. He likes sex, cigarettes, and a woman’s silhouette. He is an Ethical Hedonist, a Rationalist Deconstructionist Ignostic Nontheist, a Sex-Positive Neo-Third Wave Feminist, and a Libertarian-Socialist. He believes most of those words matter.
Gabe Patrick is ecstatic to be able to join Beatnik for his 3rd year performing with Beth Marshall Presents . Gabriel is currently a junior at Boone High School and has participated in a number of plays such as The Way Of The Cards, Legally Blonde, PIAD 2012, PIAD 2013, and numerous others behind the curtains. Gabriel would like to thank his wonderful family for all of their love and constant support for his love of the art, He would also like to thank Beth Marshall for giving him the opportunity to be a part of her season again and for being such a great mentor, He would also like to thank his wonderful Theatre teacher for all of her guidance for without Tiffany Weagly , Gabriel wouldn’t have realized his passion for the art that is acting.
Adrian LePeltier- Entertainment always fascinated Adrian from his earliest remembrances. He served his time as sous chef, waiter and host and on one occasion tried to actually entertain but discovered his forte lay not in being in the spotlight but finding, gathering and compiling what was current and what was new in the entertainment industry. He has been with The Venue and its owner longer than a cat has lived all its nine lives! Eras and styles have slipped through The Venue but it has always been distinctive, unique and a home away from home because of Adrian’s flair to make The Venue chez vous! The Venue now captures both The Beat and The Mod generations and successfully caters to its unique clientele who give Adrian several snaps and NOT THE CLAP to show their appreciation!
Mike Deaven is very excited to a part of Beatnik! He was most recently onstage in the BMP world premiere of Alice Lost in Wonderland as Louis/Sir Time/Tweedles/Gardener. He also works with the company as Assistant to the producer. Previously he wasin Play-in-a-Day 2013 and in Children of a Lesser God as Orin. He recently graduated from UCF with a degree in Theatre and a minor in music; he’s excited to be putting both parts of his degree to use! He will also be appearing in 33 Variations as Mike later in the BMP season. Mike wishes to thank Beth for all of the opportunities she has given him and his parents for always supporting him.

Darth Knapik is starting his first year at Valencia Community College to study technical theatre. As the son of Beth Marshall, he has been involved with theatre his whole life. Recently, Darth has built sets and ran lights/sound for Lake Brantley’s Productions and has overseen the technical aspects of all rentals of the theatre. His set designs include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Sweeney Todd. He was also awarded LBHS’ Phoenix Robe because of his over and above technical work on Once Upon a Mattress. For numerous years he volunteered for Orlando Fringe and served as Venue Tech in 2011. His first paid Beth Marshall Presents show was A Christmas Carol where he worked as backstage crew. Last season Darth served as Technical Director for Play-In-A-Day and the Master Carpenter/Stagehand for Biloxi Blues.
Kat Moreno is a Florida native, and has been performing for over 15 years. A Musical Theater major and graduate from Florida School of the Arts, she then went on to receive her B.F.A in Theater from Florida International University. She has performed both on land and at sea with Nickelodeon and Norwegian Cruise Line in both children’s theater and as a dancer where she discovered her passion for ballroom. Since finishing her contract, she has trained as a competitive ballroom dancer and won in the rhythm division. Now she continues to compete, but has also added teaching to her resume. She works at Arthur Murray International where she hopes to inspire others to enrich their souls through the art of dance. She would like to thank her friends, family and most importantly her husband, for always believing in her and insisting she reach past the stars and aim for the unimaginable.
Cara Fullam is ecstatic to be a part of BEATNIK! She has been seen in numerous community productions, including Spring Awakening with GOAT and Jesus Christ Superstar with Breakthrough. She is a full-time student at Valencia College. Later this season, Cara will be musical directing Penguin Point Production’s Bare. Peace and love to all.
Brett P. Carson says being a Bongo Beat for BMP is the most, man. He recently finished a gig as a square named Byck in Assassins for Cornerstone Theatre, and looks forward to many projects in future. He thanks myriad friends and family for their grooviness and as always, he hopes you dig the show.
Madison Graham graduated from the UCF theatre program in 2011 with a Minor in American Sign Language. Past works with Beth Marshall include Children of a Lesser God as Lydia and Play-In-A-Day. She is thrilled to be taking part in this amazing collaboration work with such creative people.
Erin Brenna is excited to be working with Beth Marshall Presents again, in collaboration with Varietease on BEATNIK. Some of my favorite stage credits include Pipi in The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Lucy in Jekyll and Hyde, Mezeppa in Gypsy, Cleopatra in Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra, and Sarah’s Friend in Ragtime. I am a proud member of AEA. I hold a BA in Acting/Directing from
Desales University and can be seen regularly performing in and around the Orlando area attractions and parks. I wish to thank my family and friends for their un-yielding love and support, my parents for allowing me to sing and monologue to myself for countless hours as a child, the Orlando arts community and its patrons for enabling us as artists to keep the dream alive, and my wonderful boyfriend Nick for sharing all of that with me.
Amanda Hughes is absolutely overjoyed to make her professional debut with the company of Beth Marshall Presents’ Beatnik. She had the incredible honor of opening this year’s Play-In-A-Day as Lily in Eighty Percent, and has been in the ensembles of Ragtime and Hairspray. Amanda is a proud officer to Thespian Honor Society Troupe 1139. She is forever grateful for the family that supports her and the God who blesses her so immensely. She sends massive hugs to her parents, Lulu, Sam, Katie Beth, Roberto, Grace, Rachel, Gabe, T Weags, Steve and Beth. And you, of course. She’s your biggest fan.

Ted Campbell- Will Rotten, the “Most Dangerous Man in Show Business” has over 25 years experience on stage. Performing in theaters, comedy clubs, cruise lines and everything in between, Will was most notably a featured act on “The Tonight Show” Starring Jay Leno. Guaranteed to FREAK YOU OUT!
Bella Muller has performed in 60+ productions in Florida/NYC and is excited to be a part of Beatnik! Recent productions: Ivy + Bean (Ivy), All Shook Up (Natalie), Tom Sawyer (Becky), State Fair (Margy), Hairspray (Amber), and Grease (Sandy). She can be seen in the local tour of Schoolhouse Rock, Live and Universal Orlando’s Grad Bash campaign. She recently made her directing debut with The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood through LHTC. Bella thanks her family, friends, and mentors for their constant support.
Momo Earle is extremely excited to be a part of her second Beth Marshall Presents show as a Young Beatnik! She has been active in many other theaters in the area for over six years. When not doing theater, Momo volunteers for Pug Rescue of Florida, sings, does film, and plays guitar and bass. Momo thanks the amazing cast and crew along with her family and friends for the amazing opportunities and support.
Kate Lockwood is thrilled to be part of Beth Marshall Presents! She recently made her Orlando debut in Joseph Hayes’ production of A Slow Ride. Originally from the North East, Kate graduated from NYU with a major in classical stage. Recent performances include King John at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA. Special thanks to her cast, her wonderfully supportive family and friends, and especially her Squirrel Man.
Anastasia Kurtiak (First Year Intern) has grown up around the entertainment industry. She started her theatrical career her Junior year by joining Lake Brantley’s Drama Department and first taking on the role of Make-Up Director. In her first year she served as the make-up artist for Once Upon a Mattress and ended her Senior year as scenic painter and a constructor for Grease. Last season she participated in Play-In-A-Day as stage manager, scenic painter for Biloxi Blues, and ASM for Children of a Lesser God. In this current BMP season, she has worked as an SM for Play-In-A-Day and ASM for Alice Lost in Wonderland. She is attending her first year Valencia Community College and planning to further her education and passion by pursuing a degree in Technical Theatre with a focus in Stage Management.
