Mike Deaven (Stage Manager/Assistant to the Producer) is a recent graduate from the University of Central Florida’s Theatre program. Mike worked with Beth Marshall Presents for the first time in March when he appeared as Orin in Children of a Lesser God. At UCF, Mike originated the role of The Investigator in The Unusual Suspects in the One Act Festival. Most recently he was seen onstage as Mike in the BMP production of 33 Variations. Mike hails from Minnesota, where he participated in several community theatre productions including Titanic the Musical and Sweeney Todd. In this BMP season Mike directed a show in Play-in-a-Day, was backstage for The Trayvon Martin Project, onstage for BEATNIK Squared, and is the Stage Manager for Doubt. He is excited to be a part of this company, and looks forward to helping to produce great theatre.

Amy Hadley (Light Design) is an independent Lighting Designer working with many of the local theaters throughout Central Florida. You may have seen her work in Christmas by Committee, Hairspray, as well as many other productions on the Garden stage, as the staff Lighting Designer for Beth Marshall Presents. She also serves as the Technical Director for the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival.

Tom Mangieri (Scenic Designer) has been freelancing in scenic/production design for 25 years in Central Florida, working with Orlando Shakes, Orlando REP, Madcow, Orlando Theatre Project, Mt. Dora Theatre Company, Theatre Downtown, Baystreet Players, and Beth Marshall Presents. Past sets with BMP are Crimes of the Heart, A Christmas Carol, Children of a Lesser God, Biloxi Blues, The Diviners, 33 Variations, and Alice Lost in Wonderland. Tom would like to thank Darth Knapik for his superb work as a TD on more than several shows and for the wonderful team support at the Garden Theatre where all of the BMP shows were presented.

Darth Knapik (Master Carpenter/Set Crew Foreman) has been working on sets for theatre since his junior year at Lake Brantley High School. He is currently in his second year at Valencia College for a Technical Theatre Degree. Darth has served as Master Carpenter for Beth Marshall Presents for the past three seasons.  BMP credits include: Biloxi Blues, Children of a Lesser God, Alice Lost In Wonderland, 33 Variaitions, The Trayvon Martin Project and Beatnik. Darth has also worked as a carpenter for The Garden Theatre on Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, for Valencia College on Jealousy and Chicago and Lake Howell Theatre Company for Rabbit Hole. For the past 3 years he has served as Technical Director for Play-In-A-Day and this past summer was the Production Manager for the summer season of Starving Artists’ Studios.

JG Lantigua (Sound Design/Light Crew) dove in head first into the Garden Theatre in December of 2013. He comes from Jacksonville, FL, where he worked in the I.T. industry for several years, though his true passion has always been in audio recording and mixing. After surviving his first year with the Garden Theatre, he’s still going strong! He graduated with a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Rollins College and truly loves both lighting and sound, as each offers its own outlet of creative expression. He is enjoying working and growing with the Winter Garden community.

Anastasia Kurtiak (Costume Design/Senior Intern) has grown up around the entertainment industry. She started her theatrical career her junior year of high school by joining Lake Brantley’s Drama Department and first taking on the role of Make-Up Director. In her first year she served as the make-up artist for Once Upon a Mattress and ended her senior year as scenic painter and a constructor for Grease. This season she served as assistant stage manager and makeup artist for Alice Lost in Wonderland. Last season she participated in Play-In-A-Day as stage manager, scenic painter for Biloxi Blues, and ASM for Children of a Lesser God and 33 Variations. She is attending Valencia College and planning to further her education and passion by pursuing a degree in Technical Theatre with a focus in Stage Management. She is incredibly thrilled and grateful to be a part of Doubt, A Parable and for all the opportunities given by BMP.

Ginger Lee McDermott (Sister Aloysius) is honored to be performing with Beth Marshall Presents for the first time. She was last seen in Orlando as Brooke in OTHER DESERT CITIES and Elsa in THE ROAD TO MECCA(Mad Cow Theatre) She has performed in many theatres all over the country, since graduating with a BFA from Otterbein College. Some of her favorite roles are: Catherine in PROOF(Orlando Theatre Project), Bianca in OTHELLO(Chicago Shakespeare Theatre), Elizabeth Proctor in THE CRUCIBLE(Steppenwolf Theatre Company), Lady Midleton/Mrs. Ferrars in SENSE AND SENSIBILITY(Northlight Theatre), and Madame de Tourvel in LES LIASONS DANGEREUSE(Pendragon Theatre). She was seen as the Mom on THE DOOLEY AND PALS SHOW for PBS, and was recently nominated for Best Actress at the Tampa 48 Hour Film Festival for her role in the film THE INTERVIEW produced by Spiderflix.

Michael Wanzie (Father Flynn) is making his Beth Marshall Presents / Garden Theatre debut in one of the few roles he has actually always wanted to play. Wanzie has been involved in over 150 Central Florida productions. As a playwright he has 24 manuscripts to his credit which have all been fully produced (18 of them directed by theatrical partner Kenny Howard), with titles such as, “There’s No Place Like Home”, “David’s Time”, “Carolina Moon”, “The Ladies of Eola Heights”, and with long-time Composer partner Rich Charron: “Forbidden Kingdom”, “Monorail Inferno”, “In Close Quarters”, and “Lizzie Borden: The Musical”. A long-time Orlando Fringe veteran Wanzie returns to the 2015 Festival appearing in a revival of his past self-penned Fringe hit “Dragness of God” as well as Executive Producing a revival of his “The Lion Queen – And The Naked Go-Go Cub” which in the 9 years since it was originally presented retains the distinction of being the most highly attended show in the history of  the Orlando Fringe Festival. Watch for Wanzie’s “Court Ordered Therapy – Ladies of Eola Heights Continued” coming to The Abbey in late June, starring Peg O’Keef, Blue Star, and Beth Marshall!

Chelsey Panisch (Sister James) is thrilled to be making her debut with the BMP team! She was recently seen in the Empty Space’s production of Frost/Nixon and can be found performing at various locations within Orlando’s theme parks. Chelsey would like to thank her spankin’-new Hubster for his unwavering support. Keep flying.

Shonda L. Thurman (Mrs. Muller)- Born in Flint, MI, she started her singing and acting career when her grandmother picked up a flyer from the public library and said “pick something to do for the summer”.  She was accepted to the theatre magnet at Flint Central High-School, received a scholarship to Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL  and then transferred to Stephens College in Columbia, MO where she earned her BFA in Performing Arts.  She has most recently been seen in Harambe Nights, Lion King Concert in the Wild at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, on stage singing with Blues Brothers at Universal Studios, in the national tour of A Christmas Carol and in Town Square’s Orlando production of Disenchanted as Rapunzel and The One that kissed the Frog. Doubt marks her second Beth Marshall Presents production and her debut to The Garden Theatre stage. Shonda was recently seen in the BMP production of The Trayvon Martin Project (Part 1). Look for Shonda in BMP’s HOODIES at Orlando Fringe in May.  All performances are dedicated to the memory of her mother Sandra L. Thurman.  Having now shared a stage with Viola Davis she knows all things are possible.
