ABOUT PIAD
Silent Auction, raffles, 8 TEAMS of theatre/dance artists creating and performing short works under the guidelines of a 24 hour time frame and a common theme.
To keep the integrity of the event, while still honoring the importance of this year’s theme:

PULSE

The theme was announced to the artists so they could be emotionally prepared to do their best work and so audiences can be prepared for the evening.
The writers are being given their individual ‘twist’ at the beginning of a 12-hour period of their own choosing that is their window for creating the script. The directors and performers will know nothing of their script until it is unveiled to them bright-and-early Saturday morning and will be working furiously to present them to the audience that evening.

Celebrating Beth Marshall’s 18th season involved with the event, 5th year in partnership with Lake Howell High and Penguin Point and a hundred plus artists donating time and talents to the causes of a District 3 Thespian Scholarship and OnePulseFoundation.org.

This year’s winning team will get a spot in the AFTER ORLANDO event on Oct. 17th at Orlando Shakes.

What an amazing opening of our 9th season and Play-In-A-Day Event! Thank you to all artists, staff, patrons, sponsors, volunteers, donors and community that supported this event in any way.
This year our theme was PULSE. The proceeds from the event benefitted both the BMP District 3 Scholarship Fund and One Pulse Foundation. We had over 100 artists working to create plays in the course of 24 hrs. Our panel of judges (Margret Nolan/Kangagirl Productions/AFTER ORLANDO, Seth Kubersky/Orlando Weekly/Empty Spaces, George Wallace Orlando Fringe/The Center) chose who will represent Play-In-A-Day at AFTER ORLANDO on Oct.17th at Orlando Shakes as well as gave awards to the following categories–all winners will be guaranteed slots in PIAD 2017:
