Announcing BETH MARSHALL PRESENTS 2019 TOP TEENS! Among the 100’s of emerging young people Beth coaches, mentors and adjudicates across the state of Florida, these 17 were selected to the program for their talents in all areas of theatre and all have been awarded scholarships into the summer intensive. At the June showcase, their work will be evaluated further by industry professionals and they will receive further training, awards and cash scholarships for their efforts, thanks to our sponsors at BMP Theatre Fund, Florida Theatrical Association, ClassAct Studios, and The Billy Manes Society.

Meet the teens!

HEADSHOT 2017-18Gabriel Neil Barnert is currently a student at Daytona State College on a Stage Management scholarship. He plans to major in Theatre and minor in Education after his time at DSC. Gabe has been an intern with BMP for 2 years now and is honored to be invited again to the Top Teens Program. Last year, Gabe produced the Top Teens Event. In December, Gabriel was awarded Theatre Student of the Month by the Florida College System Activities Association. During his senior year at Lake Howell High School, he was the president of Thespian Troupe 4937, was awarded the Beth Marshall Presents Wild Card Scholarship at Districts, and was the Technical Scholarship winner at the State level. Gabriel works heavily with Florida State Junior Thespians, helping with tech and logistics. He also works with the Florida Chapter of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. He would like to thank his family, James Brendlinger, Beth Marshall, Samantha Stern, Joshua Johnson, Jason Blanks, and Kristen Neander for all of their guidance, inspiration, and support.




Mackenzie Borglum is about to be a freshman at Florida Atlantic University in the fall! She will be majoring in social work with a focus on geriatrics, in hopes to open a home where people developing early onset Alzheimer’s can put on shows and perform! She was the vice president of troupe 4937, and the Broadway Cares Representative for the state of Florida, she has worked with BCEFA for the past three years and cannot wait to continue her work with them. She loves to direct, act, and stage manage! This is her first year as a Top Teen, she was recently awarded the Beth Marshall Presents Wild Card Scholarship at the district 3 festival and she cannot wait to grow with her craft during this event!







Jackson Chase is about to be a 9th grader at Lake Nona High school and is so excited to get his foot in the door when it comes to acting. He has portrayed many roles, some favorites being Gavroche from Les Miserables, Will bloom from Big Fish, and Shrek in Shrek jr. He thanks his family for their loving support and for driving him all around town!







Bella Crider is a Sophomore 2nd year student in the Musical Theater Conservatory. This is her very first year as a member of Beth Marshall’s “Top Teens”. Bella has been nominated for four Applause Awards : three times for Outstanding Lead Performer, and once for Outstanding Acting Performance as the Baker’s Wife in “Into The Woods”. In district competitions, Bella has taken home two “Best Actress” awards for her performances in the One Act and won Honorable Mention for her Costume Designs. She would like to thank her ensemble, Ms. Emerson, Beth Marshall, her wonderful mom and dad, and all of her friends and family that support her.





Caiti Fallon is a rising junior in Montverde Academy’s Theatre Conservatory, focusing on Musical Theatre. This is her first year as a part of the Top Teens program. Recently, she has been seen onstage at Montverde as Jack’s Mother in “Into the Woods”, and Benvolio in “Romeo and Juliet”. At the Garden Theater, she has performed alongside Chita Rivera in the Theatre’s annual fundraiser: “Encore: A Night with Chita Rivera”. She’s very passionate about the arts, and is pursuing her interests in performing as well as directing, her directed scene winning both Best in Show at District competition for International Thespian Society as well as winning Top Honors at State. She’d like to thank Beth Marshall for the opportunity, Ms. Emerson, her family, and most of all her Conservatory ensemble.



Eislinn Gracen is a rising sophomore at the Dr. Phillips High School theatre magnet and a member of troupe 4276. She has been performing in Orlando area theatre since she was 7 years old. Some of her favorite past roles include: Scar (The Lion King; Howard MS Performing Arts Magnet), The Child Catcher (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang; Orlando REP summer stock), The Cat in the Hat, Erma Latour, and Schwartzy (Seussical, Anything Goes, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee; SHINE in the Limelight), and Ms. Hannigan (Annie; Orlando REP Youth Academy). Eislinn has also enjoyed working with Beth Marshall Presents on The Wishing Well Girl and Play in a Day and is super excited to be part of BMP Top Teens this summer! She would like to thank Beth, her supportive family and friends, and her lovely cat, Boochie.




Joshua Huff lives in Winter Springs and is currently a junior at Lake Howell High School. He has been actively doing theater in Central Florida for 4 years now. Some of his favorite roles include Jean Prouvaire in Les Miserables (Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center), Spencer in Snappy’s Happy Half Hour at the Orlando Fringe Festival 2016, Judas in Godspell (Breakthrough Theatre of Winter Park), Josh in Bang Bang You’re Dead (Oviedo High School) and Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing (Lake Howell High School). His passion is acting and straight plays though he also loves musical theater as well. Joshua is a 3rd year BMP Presents Top Teen and was also awarded with a BMP Presents Internship for the 2018 – 2019 season. He looks forward to continuing to grow in his craft in the coming year, specifically in tv/film and to becoming a more well rounded artist.




Sarah Isola is a rising sophomore. She is super excited to be included in the amazing group of Top Teens! Some of her favorite credits include Dina/Joe in School House Rock Live! (Winter Park Playhouse), Young Bonnie in Bonnie & Clyde (Garden Theatre), Beth Bradley in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (Orlando Repertory Theatre), Heather McNamara in Heathers, and most recently, Sue Snell in Carrie the Musical (Theater West End). She thanks Beth Marshall, Theresa Smith-Levin, her friends, family, and the rest of the super talented top teens!


_MG_0054 Josh Lefkowitz is a rising Senior at Trinity Preparatory School and a second year Top Teen with Beth Marshall Presents. Trinity Prep credits: Legally Blonde, Pirates of Penzance, Now. Here. This., The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (FTC Award for Best Actor, District 3 Thespian All Star Cast, SETC All Star Cast), Almost, Maine (also assistant director), Love’s Labour’s Lost. Writing credits: Impressionist Oblivion (District 3 Thespians Best in Show), Making the Most of What Little Time You Have Left, After Hours, Televiticus. He is currently writing a full-length play, which he will be directing in January at Trinity Prep as a mainstage production. ClarkLevi_2 Clark Levi is a former intern and top teen for Beth Marshall Presents. Previously with BMP, he’s directed Paris Crayton III’s Stuck (BroadwayWorld award nominated), as well as worked as a spotlight operator for Spelling Bee and Run/Build crew for Glass Menagerie. He has also been involved in Play-in-a-Day for the past 4 years, as director, actor, asst. production manager and asst. producer. In the Top Teens program, he has established himself as an LGBT+ arts activist and won several awards, including 1st place overall and the Billy Manes Arts Activism Scholarship, and the Veteran Top Teen Award. He also currently works with BMP as a Resident Artist. He has also worked around Orlando in professional, community, and summer stock shows. Notably, he’s performed in O-Town: Voices From Orlando (Ant Farm Productions), My Pal Bette (Ms. B Productions) and Uncertainty (Eric Pinder Productions), stage managed the world premiere of Leviticus (JC Company), directed (45 Plays From) Too Much Light… (Boone Theatre), and played with Orlando Shakes’ The Young Company for four years. He is currently attending Flagler College for a degree in theatre arts, where he has recently stage managed The Giver, and co-directed/produced Actually as part of a student run production board he is forming with a fellow junior. After graduating, Clark is hoping to become a jack-of-all-trades in the Central Florida Theatre Community.





Anthony Morehead is a rising Junior at Montverde Academy. Some of Anthony’s favorite roles include Dan from “Next to Normal,” Cinderella’s Prince from “Into the Woods,” Kurt in “Heathers: The Musical,” Oberon in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and Georg from “She Loves Me” which most recently performed for a sold out house at the Florida State Thespian Festival. This is his first year with BMP top teens and he’s thrilled to be a part it. He thanks his parents and teachers for pushing him to be the best he can be.






Delaney Polk is currently in 8th grade at Windermere Preparatory School. This is Delaney’s first year with BMP Top Teens and she is excited to be included.  Delaney has done shows at Windermere Prep and with Shine in the Limelight. Some of her favorite roles include Lina Lamont in Singin’ In The Rain at WPS and Lily St. Regis in Annie at Shine in the Limelight.  Delaney has also had parts in other shows, to include The Addams Family, Peter Pan, High School Musical and Sound of Music.  Delaney is currently enrolled in dance at WPS, voice lessons with Central Florida Vocal Arts and takes acting lessons with Beth Marshall.  Delaney would like to thank her parents and brother for supporting her and Beth Marshall for this great opportunity to be in BMP Top Teens.



Bennet Preuss Headshot Bennet Preuss graduated from Lake Howell High School this summer and is returning to Top Teens for a third consecutive year. His favorites roles include Seymour in Little Shop of Horrorsat LHHS, Schroeder in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brownat Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center, Beethoven in Dog Sees Godat the 2017 Orlando Fringe Festival, and Princeton in Penguin Point Productions’ Avenue Q. This year he won the award for “Best Actor in a One Act” at the District 3 Florida Thespian Competition. His ensemble acting scene won best in show and critics choice at the district level and went on the win top honors at state, along with his duet acting scene. Bennet directed two plays this year at Lake Howell, is a published playwright, and has been an actor in Beth Marshall Presents Play-in-a-Dayin 2015, 2016, and 2017. Bennet continues to write plays, audition for shows, and looks forward to continuing theatre outside of high school. He thanks Beth Marshall, James Brendlinger and Tiffany Ortiz for their support and inspiration.

Hanna Swidler is a rising senior in Montverde Academy’s Theater Conservatory.  She is very excited about her first year with Top Teens. Hanna has been performing for over 7 years and is currently cast as Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet.  After high school, Hanna would like to study Theater Management at a Florida university.  Hanna would like to thank BMP for the opportunity to participate in Top Teens.







Vangeli Tsompandis is a first year Top Teen and he is so excited to work with Beth again. Some of his favorite roles include J. Pierrepont Finch (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), Otto Frank (The Diary of Anne Frank), John Jasper (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), and Sky Masterson (Guys and Dolls). He has competed in Thespians for the past 3 years and was recently the recipient of the District 3 Musical Theatre Scholarship, as well as the All Star Cast Award for his performance as Bill Hutchinson in The Lottery. Outside of theatre, he also holds a passion for writing, film production, and photography. Vangeli is an incoming freshman at Oklahoma City University where he will be majoring in Musical Theatre. Jazzlynn Whiddon is an upcoming senior at Lake Howell High School under the direction of Tiffany Ortiz. This is her 3rd year working with BMP as a Top Teen and her 1st interning. Jazzlynn has been performing for over 7 years, as well as being apart of two choirs, stage management and marketing. After high school, she hopes to attend a University for either musical theater or theater education. Some of her favorite theater credits include Jack Scott in High School Musical, Gary Coleman in Avenue Q, Peppermint Patty in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown and Stage Managing Much Ado About Nothing. Jazzlynn would like to thank Beth Marshall for this incredible opportunity to work with the TOP TEENS program once again and is very excited for the year to come.




Meet the adjudicators!

HOLLAND HAYES has been a professional actor in Central Florida and the Southeast for 30 years, and he is a proud member of Actors Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild. He performed for a decade at Universal Studios Florida and more than two decades for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Locally, he recently appeared as Pastor Greg in Hand to God at the Mad Cow Theatre, Jigger Cravens in the Orlando Philharmonic’s Carousel, and an ensemble player in Ragtime at the new Dr. Philips Performing Arts Center. He is Dr. Steve in the feature film Waves (coming soon!) and he is currently Entertainment Show Director at TITANIC – The Artifact Exhibition.

Jordan Laica is a current Freelance Lighting Designer and technician in the Central Florida area, as well as the Technical Director at Penguin Point Productions. Jordan has been able to show his skills not only Lighting Design, but Sound Design, Scenic Design, and Electrical skills. He just received his AA from Seminole State and will be attending UCF’s Design and Technology Program in Fall 2019. He has been a Top Teen before and has worked with Beth Marshall on many productions such as “The Lieutenant of Inishmore”, “Girl”, and “Play in a Day”. Jordan has also been a Venue Technician at the Orlando Fringe for 2 full festivals and 1 “mini” festival. Although he is still in college, he has been able to balance work and schooling. Jordan would like to thank Beth for this opportunity, and he is looking forward to working with her again soon. He hopes that you enjoy your evening and the best of luck to the Top Teens.


IMG_2256 Matthew (Matty) MacDermid is the founder and producing artistic director of The Ensemble Company, which opened with OTHER DESERT CITIES this spring.  He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre and English Literature as well as over twenty-five years professional experience as an actor, director, and stage manager.  In addition to his theatre work, he has also served as a one-acts and individual events adjudicator across Florida at district festivals and the annual state festival held each spring.  Matty is a proud member of FATE—the Florida Association for Theatre Education—as well as a member of the Florida State Thespians Mainstage Selection Committee.  For Beth Marshall Presents, he is a returning Top Teens adjudicator and a three-time veteran of PIAD—twice serving as a director (including the first PIAD musical!) and once as an actor.  Matty can be found @matthewmacdermid on Facebook; The Ensemble Company can be found @theensemblecompany.
