Join us for our 3rd Annual TOP TEENS SHOWCASE featuring the acting, singing, musical and performance art talents of select young emerging artists that are theatrically coached and mentored by Beth Marshall throughout the season. Local veteran industry professionals adjudicate and select a Critic’s Choice TOP TEEN.

Congrats to the following 18 teens (ages 13-19) that were selected into our BMP TOP TEENS & TOP TEENS (in training) program for their holistic approach to theatre arts. These are all teens that take theatre seriously and are choosing to pursue the arts in a variety of well-rounded capacities on and off the stage and screen.

Arianna Aviles is an incoming senior  at Lake Howell High School. Her inspiration to perform came from a production of “Little Shop of Horrors” she saw when she was 8 years old. Some of Arianna’s favorite productions she’s participated in include, “Spamalot” where she played Patsy and “Avenue Q” where she played Lucy. Along with singing and acting Arianna also enjoys reading. Aside from Theater her favorite class is English. This year Arianna is a Top Teen in Training and is very excited to become an official Top Teen!




HEADSHOT 2017-18



Gabriel Barnert is a currently a senior at Lake Howell High School. He is so excited and honored to be working with the other interns and members of BMP this year. Gabriel plans on majoring in Theatre while obtaining a minor in Education and wants to teach high school theater in Central Florida. At Lake Howell, Gabriel is the president of Thespian Troupe 4937, as well as president of the school’s A/V Tech Club. Gabriel is the proud recipient of the 2017 Beth Marshall Presents Wild Card Scholarship and the 2018 Florida State Thespians Technical Theater Scholarship.








Mackenzie Borglum is a senior at Lake Howell High School. She is excited to be working with Beth Marshall and the rest of the Top Teens! Mackenzie is the Florida State Broadway Cares Representative. She has a passion for acting, directing, and stage managing! She would like to thank her family and friends for supporting her on this journey!







Alexia Correa is a Freshman at the University of the Arts and is pursuing a BFA degree in Musical Theatre. She is pleased to back working with Beth Marshall Presents in the TOP TEENS Showcase. This is her 3rd year performing in the showcase and she couldn’t be more grateful to be considered a Top Teen for so many years. Some of Alexia’s previous credits include (Naomi) 21 Chump Street, (Featured Performer) Ancient Future, (Henrietta) All Shook Up, and (Skylar) Good Kids. She would like to thank everyone for attending the performance and hopes you enjoy the showcase.





Francesca Coverini, also known as Frankie, is a graduating senior at Lake Howell High School. She is an accomplished student, maintaining a 3.85 GPA while taking part in all the shows her high school has to offer. Francesca is the vice president of the honor choir and a director/performer in the theater company. Some of her most renowned roles have been Lady of the Lake in Spamalot, the Sour Kangaroo in Seussical, and Holly in The Wedding Singer. 9 schools around the United States have offered Francesca admission such as the Manhattan School of Music, the San Francisco Conservatory, and the Boston Conservatory. She will be studying classical voice performance, which she hopes to pursue in the future.



IMG_1195 Dernika David currently is an elite dancer at Revolutions Dance Company training in ballet, contemporary and jazz. She is also a  dancer for Lake Howell Theatre Company, as well as an assistant choreographer for a few shows. Dernika’s Choreography piece from the musical Cabaret received a straight superior and Honorable mention at The 2017 District 3 Thespian Festival. She started dancing at the age of 14, landing her first lead role as “Clara” in The Nutcracker for Dynasty Dance Co. She was even a featured dancer on Jimmy Fallon along with her siblings the summer of her sophomore year. She intends on being a professional dancer all while attending college and becoming a pre-med major. Dernika David’s ultimate goal is to contribute back to the central Florida theatre community and to one day be a mentor to youth just like her amazing teachers/coaches Amy Rookey, James Brendlinger and of course Beth Marshall. I would like to give special thanks to my family for their unlimited support and being my inspiration.

Joshua Huff lives in Winter Springs and is currently a sophomore at Oviedo High School who is looking forward to an exciting move to Lake Howell High School in the fall. He is a current officer for Troupe 4564. He is also a member of the OHS Horizons Choral performance group. Joshua has been actively doing theater in Central Florida for almost 4 years now. Some of his favorite roles include Jean Prouvaire in Les Miserables (Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center), Spencer in Snappy’s Happy Half Hour at the Orlando Fringe Festival 2016, Judas in Godspell (Breakthrough Theatre of Winter Park), Josh in Bang Bang You’re Dead (Oviedo High School) and Solo & Ensemble in The Bitch of Living – Teen Angst at the Orlando Fringe Festival 2017. His passion is acting and straight plays though he also loves musical theater as well. He has been taking private lessons on and off with Beth Marshall for a little over a year now in hopes of continuing to grow in his craft and to become more well-rounded in the profession as a whole. He is incredibly excited to be participating in the BMP Top Teen program for the second year in a row.





Sarah Isola is a rising freshman and will be a part of the Lake Howell High School Theatre Department. She is super excited to be a BMP TOP TEEN! Some of her favorite roles include Young Bonnie in Bonnie & Clyde (Garden Theatre), Beth Bradley in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical (Orlando Repertory Theatre), and Truly Scrumptious in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Orlando Repertory Theatre). She is also a proud member of The Orlando REP Power Chords, and also a member of the Docs & Dellas at the Dr Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Sarah is part of the outreach program at the Winter Park Playhouse in School House Rock Live! She thanks Beth Marshall, Theresa Smith-Levin, her friends, family, and the rest of the amazing top teens!






Gerald Kitt is attending the University of Central Florida in the Summer. This is his first year being a part of Top Teens. He is very excited to work along side so many different peers and to take on all of the new possibilities that he encounters. Gerald has been in theatre for years and has a background in acting, singing, and dancing. He loves to find spare time to direct children theatre and has started his own theatre program called “Performers In Training”. He would also like to thank Beth Marshall for this amazing opportunity.





Josh Lefkowitz is a sophomore at Trinity Preparatory School and a first year Top Teen. Professional credits: To Kill a Mockingbird (Orlando Shakes, BroadwayWorld Award), 1969: Stonewall (Orlando Fringe), Monorail Inferno (Orlando Fringe) Wanzie With a Z (Orlando Fringe, Critic’s Pick Best Ensemble). Trinity Prep credits: California Suite, Big River, 12 Angry Jurors, Man of La Mancha, Legally Blonde (Applause Award nomination), Peter and the Starcatcher, Pirates of Penzance, Now. Here. This. Writing credits: Impressionist Oblivion (District 3 Thespians Best in Show), Making the Most of What Little Time You Have Left. He is currently writing two screenplays and writes film reviews on his social media. He would like to thank his family, friends, teachers, and Beth for this incredible opportunity.


ClarkLevi.jpg This is Clark Levi’s 2nd year as a top teen and intern for Beth Marshall Presents. Previously with Beth, he’s worked as a spotlight operator for Spelling Bee and Run/Build crew for Glass Menagerie, as well as an actor/director in different years of Play-in-a-Day. He has also performed around Orlando in professional, community, and summer stock shows. Notably, he’s performed in O-Town: Voices From Orlando (Ant Farm Productions), My Pal Bette (Tammy Kopko/Orlando Fringe) and Eric Pinder’s Uncertainty (Orlando Fringe). He is also a writer for the website Performerstuff, a National Ranking Thespian and High School Department Officer, and a hopeful Jack of All Trades in the Central Florida Theatre Community. Clark is currently attending Flagler College for a degree in theatre arts to achieve this goal.





Ben Lowe is a recent graduate from Lyman High School and will be studying at the University of Central Florida in the fall. He will be getting his degree in technical theatre. He hopes to translate that degree into a career in Disney Parks & Resorts Entertainment. He has spent the year learning under Beth Marshall Presents as an intern. Ben is passionate about lighting design and stage management.  Previous shows include Lieutenant of Inishmore (Beth Marshall Presents), Mary Poppins (Orlando Rep), and Big Fish (Lyman High School). Ben would like to thank his friends and family for their continued support; and to Beth for her constant encouragement and for always pushing him in the right direction.






Laura Powalisz is an incoming Junior at Lake Howell High School. She is very excited to be working with Beth Marshall and the other members of BMP this year. Laura is a member of Thespian Troupe 4937 and is part of NHS. Her favorite theatre credits include Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical, and Historian in Spamalot. She’d like to thank her friends and family for all their support!




bennet-preuss-headshot.jpgBennet Preuss is an incoming senior at Lake Howell High School and is returning to Top Teens for a second consecutive year. His favorites roles include Sir Robin in Spamalot at LHHS, Schroeder in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown at Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center, Beethoven in Dog Sees God at the 2017 Orlando Fringe Festival, and Princeton in Penguin Point Productions’ Avenue Q. His duet acting scene earned Best in Show at the 2016 District 3 Thespian Festival. His short comedy, “Rainbow Bunnies in the Zombie Apocalypse,” was published in “5-Minture Plays for Teens” in 2017. He was a guest artist with the Stuffed with People Puppet Improv Troupe at Orlando’s Kids Fringe Festival and an actor in Beth Marshall Presents Play-in-a-Day in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Bennet continues to write plays, audition for shows, and looks forward directing in his final year at LHHS. He thanks Beth Marshall and James Brendlinger for their support and inspiration.




Nick Serino is a Junior at Lake Howell High School and has recently found a love for all the performing arts has to offer. He has been a part of theater for nearly 4 years and has had 10+ roles, ranging from modern comedies to Shakespeare classics. Nick has recently taken a step outside of high school to perform at more local and professional shows to further expand his performing experience and résumé. Previously being coached in acting, singing, and dancing, he has found his sweet spot in Musical Theater. Nick’s future goal is to one day be an acting coach, to help those who want to do what they love, and to guide them to go as far as they possibly can.

Forrest Stringfellow is an oncoming sophomore at Daytona State College and plans to recieve his Associates in Nursing, then switch studies to Fine Arts. Forrest has been working with Beth for quite literally his entire professional career, debuting in The Lieutenant of Inishmore last season. Striving to further his professional image, Forrest is supremely grateful to Beth for giving him a second opportunity to present himself to the Orlando community.






Jazzlynn Whiddon is an incoming junior at Lake Howell High School under the direction of James Brendlinger. This is her second year working with BMP and is extremely grateful for the opportunity. She has been performing for over 6 years, as well as being apart of show choir, costuming, make-up crew and stage management. After high school, she hopes to attend the University of North Carolina School of the Arts or the New York Academy for the Dramtic Arts for either musical theater or acting. Some of her favorite theater credits include Jack Scott in High School Musical Jr, Gary Coleman in Avenue Q, The Three Little Pigs in Shrek the Musical, and Angie in The Wedding Singer. Jazzlynn would like to thank Beth Marshall for this incredible opportunity to work with the TOP TEENS program once again and is very excited for the year to come.
