Touring Shows Premiering in Orlando:

Commencement

  • By Clay McLeod Chapman
  • Directed by Brenna Nicely
  • Starring Beth Marshall
  • May-June @ Orlando Fringe and/or The Venue
  • In times when schools such as Sandy Hook and Columbine are household names, Commencement’s message rings so necessary. One actor plays the mother of the shooter, one of the victims and the mother of a victim in the grim aftermath of a high school shooting.

“A deep dish of reality, tragedy and pain… Commencement is an absolutely astounding piece, that delves deeper into a disaster then any media outlet could, or would for that matter. It shows that there are more than two sides to a story, how ‘victim’ is not a black-and-white term, how quick we are to blame and how fast we are to forget.”

Before the couple can truly fall in love, they both must accept that some people may never fit into society.
